How to Publish Your AI-Generated Roblox Game
You built a game with AI. Now get it on Roblox where millions of players can find it. Here's exactly how.
Download your .rbxlx from PromptBlox
After your game finishes generating in PromptBlox, click the Download button. Your game saves as a .rbxlx file — the native Roblox Studio format. Save it somewhere easy to find, like your Desktop.
Open Roblox Studio
Launch Roblox Studio from your computer. If you don't have it installed, download it free from roblox.com/create. You need a Roblox account to publish, but creating one is free.
Open your file in Studio
In Roblox Studio, go to File → Open from File. Navigate to where you saved the .rbxlx file and select it. Your game world will load in the editor.
Review your game
Walk around your game in the editor to make sure everything looks right. Press F5to test play — you'll spawn in as a player and can experience the game exactly as your future players will.
Press Shift+F5 to stop the test and return to editing.
Tip:Want to customize your game before publishing? Check out our guide to customizing in Roblox Studio.
Publish to Roblox
Go to File → Publish to Roblox. If this is your first time publishing, Studio will ask you to create a new game. Click Create New Game.
Configure game settings
Fill in your game details:
- Name: Pick something catchy that tells players what to expect
- Description: Describe your game in 2-3 sentences
- Icon: Upload a 512x512 image (you can screenshot your game from a cool angle)
- Genre: Choose the category that fits best
Set your game to Public
By default, new games are Private. To let players find your game:
- Go to the Roblox Creator Dashboard
- Find your game under "Creations"
- Click on it and toggle Active to On
Share your game link
Your game now has a URL like roblox.com/games/123456789. Share it on Discord, TikTok, Twitter, or anywhere your friends hang out. The more people play early, the more the Roblox algorithm promotes your game.
Troubleshooting FAQ
My .rbxlx file won't open in Roblox Studio
Make sure you're using the latest version of Roblox Studio. Go to the Roblox website and re-download Studio if needed. The .rbxlx format requires Studio 2022 or newer.
My game looks different in Studio than in PromptBlox
The 3D preview in PromptBlox is an approximation. Roblox Studio uses the actual Roblox engine with proper lighting, shadows, and physics. Your game will generally look better in Studio, not worse.
How do I update my game after publishing?
Make changes in Roblox Studio, then go to File → Publish to Roblox again. Select your existing game instead of creating a new one. The update goes live immediately.
Can I monetize my AI-generated game?
Yes. Once published, you can add game passes, developer products, and other monetization features just like any Roblox game. Check out the Roblox monetization docs for details.
Do I need a paid Roblox account to publish?
No. Publishing games on Roblox is completely free. You just need a standard Roblox account.
